Guide to Opening Your Wii

Using your Philips Screwdriver to remove the battery cover Remove the battery and cover and put it off to the side.

 Remove the three small Phillips screws that hold the Wii's black port cover. Note one screw is longer than the other. Once you remove the black port cover, you'll find a mix of Tri-wing and Phillips screws that need to be removed.

Remove the stickers on each end of the face panel Remove the 2 Tri-wing screws, that secure the Wii's front panel.

Remove the stickers on the screw hidden on the side and remove the Tri-wing screw Remove the stickers on the screw hidden on the back and remove the philips screw

With the side and face plate screws removed, you can gently detach the face plate from the Wii.
Gently detach and remove the face plate.
With the face plate removed, you can remove the remaining two Tri-wing screws that secure the Wii's plastic case. These are found under the two rubber pads near the back of the Wii's bottom shell

Top cover removed Remove the screws holding down the metal shield and you will see the Wii's drive, two wireless antenna, cooling fan, and air intake cover.

Remove ALL 4 drive screws to lift the drive out.

The drive is connected to the main unit by a thin ribbon cable and larger power cable. By disconnecting the POWER cable you can lift the drive and set the drive flat.
